Knowledge Transfer and the opening lab are separate
For Knowledge Transfer, complete G-46C in the Temporal Research Centre’s Utilities generator area and enter the exit elevator after restoring power. The shrinking, resin, floppy-disk and printer puzzles are earlier, in Dahne’s Laboratory at R&D Headquarters.
Unlock Knowledge Transfer in the TRC
- Continue to checkpoint 5-1 The TRC, where the Utilities generator objective associated with Knowledge Transfer takes place.
- Complete the G-46C sequence to finish the power-restoration objective in the Utilities generator area.
- Enter the exit elevator after completing that sequence; this is the progression point associated with Knowledge Transfer.
Shrink an Explorer and repair the circuit
At checkpoint 2-3 Dahne’s Laboratory, choose who will shrink and who will remain outside. The miniature Explorer reaches the small machinery, while the normal-sized partner operates the equipment and reads its reference displays. Keep those roles clear through the resin, dial and printer stages.
- Place the chosen Explorer inside the size-changing chamber so the outside partner can activate the shrinking process.
- Open the miniature exit from the external controls once shrinking finishes; the smaller Explorer can then reach the work surface and circuit machinery.
- Match the circuit components to the colored socket fasteners using the partner’s symbol reference. Where several placements look possible, fit the component with fewer possible sockets first to narrow the remaining choices.
- Activate the circuit after all six components are installed; a correct assembly powers the connected equipment and lets the laboratory sequence continue.
Mix the resin in the fixed chemical order
The resin recipe is fixed: Styrene goes before and after equal portions of Acrylonitrile and Butadiene. The miniature Explorer positions the container beneath each outlet, while the partner reads the recipe and controls dispensing. Before each pour, agree on the chemical and handle position so the container and dispenser match.

Dispense Styrene at handle 4 with the container directly beneath its nozzle; this supplies the opening ingredient.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
- Dispense Acrylonitrile at handle 3 once the container is beneath the matching nozzle; this adds the next ingredient.
- Dispense Butadiene at handle 1 with the container beneath that outlet; this adds the other middle ingredient.
- Dispense Styrene at handle 4 again to finish the chemical order; omitting this final addition leaves the recipe incomplete.
- Complete the processing interaction after the full 4 → 3 → 1 → 4 sequence; the successful mixture opens the route into the computer machinery.
If you added the ingredients out of order, restart with the complete recipe. If the selected nozzle produces no liquid in the container, reposition the container beneath its outlet before dispensing again. Check the container before treating that pour as complete.
Match the floppy-disk dials to the live clues
The miniature Explorer reads the small dial positions, and the outside partner matches them on the large dials. Treat these as orientations to synchronize rather than a numerical password. Read each door’s current targets before trying to stop its indicators.
- Collect the cartridge inside Clive the guinea pig’s cage so you have the item needed to activate the floppy-disk doors.
- Insert the cartridge to activate the floppy-disk door mechanisms.
- Have the miniature Explorer read the first door’s four target orientations in order; its indicators use 90-degree increments, covering up, right, down and left.
- Stop each corresponding large dial at the direction your partner called; its light turns blue when that position registers correctly.
- Pass through the first floppy-disk door once all four directions register; the next mechanism adds diagonal targets.
- Match the second door’s current small-dial positions, including its diagonal directions. Its indicators use 45-degree increments, and completing this set opens the route to the printer controls.
If an attempt resets, have the reader call the current targets again before you resume. The indicators can keep moving briefly after release, so allow for that when timing each stop. Use the blue light to confirm a successful match before moving on.
Reproduce the printer grid and collect the access card
The printer uses a 4×4 target that changes whenever the puzzle starts. The blinking light marks the cursor; moving it does not switch a target light on. Have the partner outside watch the displayed pattern while the miniature Explorer operates the directional floor plates and Confirm control.
- Make a test movement so the observer can establish how the controls map to their view; opposing viewpoints can make the same direction appear reversed.
- Guide the blinking cursor to a position whose light needs to change, using the live target display to choose the destination.
- Press Confirm at that position to toggle its light; the observer can now compare its new state with the target.
- Repeat the movement and confirmation process until the displayed target pattern matches; the printer then produces the Green Key Card for the earlier laboratory access door.
- Return through the size-changing equipment so your partner can restore you to normal size.
- Use the Green Key Card at the earlier laboratory access panel to continue toward the prototype equipment.
Avoid pressing Confirm again on a completed position, because another toggle can turn a correct light off. If the puzzle starts again, read its new target rather than copying the previous finished grid. Work through the current pattern until the printer activates.
When the printed card does not open the exit
- Why does the laboratory exit stay locked after accepting the green card?
- Check that you are using the printed card at the earlier laboratory access panel. Players have reported the card being accepted and the indicator changing color while the door stayed closed; one player restored the levers by completely closing and relaunching the game. If your Journey remains softlocked, the developer’s broader guidance allows returning to the last unlocked checkpoint.
